Edibility: Excellent Range: worldwide in temperate seas but rare in the tropics; here, from southeast Alaska to Isla de Guadalupe (off north-central Baja California) Comments: The Albacore usually start to show up in the Spring time in San Diego. As the water warms the fish move north. Almost all local landings will target the Albacore. Some more frequently than others. The albacore are awesome eating raw, cooked, or even smoked. Morro Bay has awesome albacore fishing in the Fall and sometimes early Winter.
