The World Wide Fishing Guide is the best place to find us under Saltwater and then California.

Quest SportFishing has provided a list below to help you pack for your trip. Remember this list is just a guide line. Some passengers might consider it to much, other too little. Please call the Quest Sportfishing Charters office (619) 221-8500 if you have any questions.

Photo Identification is Required!
(No Exceptions)

Luggage- The Quest Sportfishing Charters suggests duffle bag(s) or soft sided luggage. These are easier to store.

Apparel - Shirts and pants - at least 1 of each per day. Don't forget it gets WARM on these long trips, include shorts for comfort. Clothing made of quick drying fabric is advisable.

Sock and Under Wear -Socks 1 or 2 pair per day, especially if you fish in tennis shoes. Underwear do not forget to pack a sufficient amount.

Foot Wear-Short boots are best. They will keep your feet dry. Tennis shoes or other comfortable shoes for the travel days. If you choose to fish in tennis shoes, please bring a couple of pair.

Outer Wear-Even though the days are warm, the evenings can be cool and breezy. At least 1 jacket and 1 sweat shirt is recommended. A light rain suit should be packked. You will probably not need it, but if you do you will have it.

Sun Protection-Hat(s) preferably any wide brim hat or foreign legion/sunbuster style. some prefer baseball caps. Sun screen, don't forget it. Polarized sunglasses are a must.

Toiletries-Remember to pack all your shaving gear, shampoo, bath soap, tooth paste and towels.

Fishing and Deck Items-Cross cutting pliers (dykes), needle nose pliers and or duck bill pliers. Rod belt and harness - sit down style preferred. For smaller fish a regular rod belt is fine. There are many manufacturers to choose from. the encompass a wide range of sizes and prices.

Rubber gloves and a hay hook. These will help you at the dock in handling your catch.
Misc Items -Books, if you are a reader. Board games, note book, pens, pencils, camera, film and batteries. The voltage in the cabins is 110, so you can recharge batteries for a camcorder or other rechargeable items. There is a video player in the lounge area. The Quest Sportfishing Charters has a small library or tapes feel free to
bring some of your own if you would like to.

Sea Sick Medication & Remedies -Check with your Physician for preferred method of prevention (Transderm patches are back! These appear to be highly successful.) There are several over-the-counter products that are very effective. Your local Pharmacist would be another source for recommendations.

Preferred brands of Rods in order of quality and performance are: Cal Star Grafighter, Cal Star, Seeker OR Penn. Light weight Aluminum spools.
Preferred brand of line is BERKLEY TRILENE (Blue or Clear.)

There are several variations on types of Rods and Reels. Weíve listed the combinations that we feel work best. Your favorite saltwater tackle store can assist you in comparable products if you wish. If you are from out of the state of California, call us and we will recommend a tackle store to you.
